Jesus Can

Jesus can. Sometimes, we forget that he can fix it, heal it, mend it...that he can. The world is in need of the hope of what Jesus can do for them. The world needs to see what he has done in us to believe that he can do it in them. Doubt will never disappear, nor will disdain for him. That is just the way of the world. That doesn't change what he can do for the world, though.

Just think about it. He walked up that hill and climbed up on that cross while the world was mocking him, spitting in his face...hating him. Yet, he did it. He fixed everything, despite us. I sometimes look around and see the mess and chaos of this word and I honestly doubt that he can fix it. I sometimes momentarily believe the lie that it's all just too much. It's not, though. Whatever the mess is you see in front you, whether you created it or it was created for you...it's not too much for Jesus.

I remember moments in my past when things were so bleak, so painful, that I really believed it was beyond God's power to do anything. The result of that was apathy. I just shut it all out. I started working hard to fix things myself. As you know, if you have read anything I write, that didn't work. I ended up back where I started, asking the question, "Can you fix this, Lord?" I asked that question, then surrendered it all to him...and he did it! He has restored what was lost. He has done it because he can. He could choose to say no, but he doesn't. If he were going to say no, he would have done it at the cross. He would have called down Heaven's army to stop it all. He didn't, though. He went through with it. He knew how much was at stake, and he wasn't willing to part with us, to leave us in our impossible state.

If you don't know where to start today, just start with those two words: Jesus can. If you can't believe beyond that, it's okay. If you can't see past the end of your nose right now, that's okay. Just believe that Jesus can. This world is sick and lost and the bad stuff is going to happen. We can choose to face it alone, or we can choose to embrace Christ and stand firm, no matter how shaky the ground around us is. Jesus can heal your relationships, he can forgive your failure, he can free you from your past. Look to Heaven and believe. Jesus can...and he will. Choose to believe that he can...

and he will.

"Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is to hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17
